If pelletised feed isn’t eaten within a small time frame then the fish only tend to eat a percentage of the feed because the rest of the feed is to broken down to eat and becomes undigested proteins on the lake bed. You therefore lose efficiency from the food and effectively lose money on uneaten food.

By using a better quality extruded feed not only are you normally buying a better quality feed with fish meal and animal meal proteins in you are buying a pellet that keeps it shape for much longer therefore getting better growth from your fish and less waste out of your feed.
